San Francisco Japantown: Cherry Blossom Festival
San Francisco Japantown's Annual Cherry Blossom Festival took place today from 11am-5pm with live music, Japanese cultural activities, a Hello Kitty activity center, tons of food, and hundreds of visitors throughout the day.
Some of our favorite industry friends were asked to display their cars with the festival as a part of Japanese automotive heritage.
We were able to hang out with Viviane Ching, who was proud to debut her TunerPlayground sponsored, Hello Kitty Scion xB, painted by Garage Inc.
She drew huge crowds throughout the day ranging from children to adults, all who were fascinated with her amazingly unique car. Hello Kitty herself even stopped by to hang out with Viviane and show her support.
It was hard to focus on photographing the cars and the event when Viviane kept dazzling the crowds with her goodies (and by that we mean her car and all the cool things inside of it).
As always, it was a pleasure to see Dr. Ed (Team Hokori Skyline GTR), Joe Tam, the great guys of District 10, Mach III, and more. We hope you guys had just as much fun as we did and that you found some shade, because it was awfully hot outside.
Photo credits belong to our newest staff photographer, Larry Le, and Joe Ninobla (Import Image).
See you soon!
