TP: So we have to ask, how did you get into modeling? Were you discovered?
EA: Hahaha, I love this question. I got a call from my cousin, Jey Brandice Lee, to come over and join her in a photo shoot with Sacramento's best photographer, Keith Selle! It was my first shoot and I was so nervous! That was back in October of 2008 I think. Since then I have been shooting and loving it. Discovered? I guess you can say Keith Selle discovered me and also Mark Kozen of CutieCourt!
TP: Do you consider yourself beautiful? What do you think is your greatest asset? What makes you unique?
EA: I think EVERYONE has something about them that makes them beautiful. I would like to think I am beautiful both inside and out, but that's up to everyone one else to decide. Haha. I guess my greatest physical asset is my smile. ^_^
TP: What was the first real event that you modeled at? What made it most memorable to you?
EA: The first event EVER was Wek'Fest earlier this year at Japantown in San Francisco. AWW!! It was with TunerPlayground too! The whole car scene was interesting to me: Nice cars, hot models, guys staring at models. hahaha. I met a lot of cool people and sold a lot of pictures. At first, I thought it was kind of intimidating but a lot of people were sweet enough to try and make me feel comfortable. I don't think I can pick just one thing to be the most memorable. It was such a great experience overall. Thank you guys!!!
TP: Anytime. =) So who is your favorite model or celebrity of all time? What would your fantasy photo shoot with her consist of?
EA: My favorite celebrity of all time is Mariah Carey. She is amazing despite all that she's gone through and how the media has portrayed her. I love her! Her songs always make me feel better. My fantasy photo shoot with Mariah? Hahaha. That would probably consist of tasteful implied with lots of glitter and butterflies. ^_^ Real Mariah-like hahaha!
TP: Have you ever used your looks to take advantage of someone? Was it one of our staff? You can tell us.
EA: Oh my goodness. I might have, but I like to think it was my personality that helps me get my way instead. Of course I would never do that to any of you guys, unless you ask nicely...hahaha.
TP: What are your hobbies? Any hidden talents you'd like to share with the world?
EA: I like going to the movies and spending free time with my family especially my goofy little boy. I don't know if it's considered a hidden talent, but I like fixing things and figuring out new gadgets. I guess I like knowing why things work the way they do.
TP: What does a typical day look like for you? Where do you like to go for some time alone?
EA: Usually a typical day is wake up, go to school and stay there for a good portion of the day, leave to pick up my son where I get fed by my mom, spend time with my son, bathe him, put him to sleep, work on homework and work on stuff for modeling or whatever else it may be, then sleep. That's a pretty normal day for me, haha. Free time?! What is that?
TP: Favorite place to eat? Drink? Play?
EA: I have a lot of places I could name. I go out to eat way too much, hahaha. There use to be this one place called Rusty Duck. It was a cool little spot by the river and it had the BEST prime rib I have ever had! For drinks I like going to Mason's in The Park. I love the set up and the vibe. To play I don't really have a favorite, I'm still trying to find a place I really like.
TP: Since we are an automotive interest website and most of our readers are motorheads, we have to ask, what do you drive right now? Have you ever thought about getting into racing?
EA: Right now I drive a Honda Accord. =P Not exciting, I know. It's my mommy mobile though. Haha. And are you kidding me?! If I were given the opportunity I would definitely get into racing!!! I love racing hahaha. I used to drive this Civic we bought off my step cousin. He was totally into cars so he had it all fixed it up when he gave it to me. That was the first car I learned to drive in. Being a teen and new to driving I was nervous because I've heard horror stories about first time drivers, let alone first time drivers using a manual transmission. As I got more comfortable on the road, I noticed other cars revving their engines at me at stop-lights. I guess they thought since I was a girl I wouldn't do it. I'd look over at my mom and giggle, she'd look back and say "Do it!" She's crazy I love her. I think she should race with me. ^_^ HAHA. Good times! So, someone...AHEM...TunerPlayground...should make that happen. Hahaha ^_^
TP: Does size matter for you? You know we're talking about engines of course.
EA: Riiiight...I have no idea about engines, sorry. I am really interested in learning about them though! Who wants to teach me? Hehe
TP: What were one of your resolutions for 2009? Did you stick to it?
EA: One of my resolutions for 2009 was to try not to cuss anymore. That didn't last long. I'm trying to do it again though because I think cussing is so unnecessary.
TP: What item of clothing or accessory makes you feel the sexiest?
EA: This is an interesting question. I guess my chonies (panties). Haha. I feel like it just shows what type of mood you are in...if you know what I mean...wink, hahaha ^_^
TP: What has surprised you the most about modeling? What has your most memorable modeling moment been? Most embarrassing?
EA: The thing that has surprised me the most about modeling is how tiring it can be. I give it to those models who do this full time as a career. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Modeling is hard! With all the planning, traveling, and prepping for photo shoots. I've definitely had a taste of what the life is like. Don't get me wrong though, I've loved every minute of it and it continues to be an awesome experience! Oh, the most memorable is the weekend of HIN LA 2009. I had so much fun! It was my first HIN event and we did great! LA is such a nice place to visit. Of course the most memorable moments have been the magazine photo shoots for both DSport (June Issue) and Performance Auto and Sound (Coming soon!). I will never forget how fun it was to work with the staff and of course to be able to see the outcome!! Most embarrassing moment would probably have to be when I misspelled a fan's name on his photo. It was loud at the show so I had a hard time hearing his name. I later saw that he added me on Myspace and I felt horrible about it. So when I saw him again at HIN San Mateo I made sure to give him new pictures of me. Haha, oops!
TP: So what are some of your biggest turn-ons? Turn-offs? How would a guy get your attention?
EA: Invest in a good cologne! The way that a guy smells is very important to me. I am a sniffer hahaha. If you don't smell good, sorry, it's a no go. Hahaha ^_^
TP: What is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to you on a date? How did the rest of the night go?
EA: I honestly can't say anything has gone terribly wrong. I haven't been on many dates, or I haven't considered them to be dates. I don't remember! Hahaha. I have been with my son's father for over three and a half years. If he does something weird I don't see it as anything wrong because I'm so accustomed to it.
TP: On a scale of 1 to 10, how wild are you in the bedroom?
EA: 11...easily. Hahaha ^_^
TP: We ask this with every model we feature, so no need to be shy. Favorite position? Yes you have to answer this. No giggling.
EA: Point Guard. I LOVE Kobe! Giggle ^_^
TP: Boo...Lebron all the way! So what is something no one else knows about you that you are willing to let us in on first?
EA: I get more excited than my son does when it comes to watching cartoons. Especially Sponge Bob!
TP: Were you popular in high school? If so, why do you think that was?
EA: I don't think so. In high school I never wanted to be around a lot o people. I knew that with many friends came distractions. I was very motivated and determined to get into a good college. I wasn't really interested in normal high school stuff. Even if I wanted to be, I couldn't. My family and I are very close, I don't think I was allowed to go out or talk on the phone much until my senior year. Hahaha!
TP: If you weren't modeling right now, what would you be doing for money?
EA: If I wasn't modeling right now, I still wouldn't be working for money. I have been fortunate enough to not need to. My family strongly encourages me to just do my best as a mother and a full-time student. For this I am very grateful.
TP: Do you use Twitter? Facebook? What do you think about social networking sites and how they have affected models these days? Do you have any online stalkers?
EA: I use Facebook and also Myspace. I feel that social networking sites help build a fan base for models. It's a way for people to get to know who these models are...or at least what the models want them to know and think. Stalkers?! Haha, no comment...they might be reading this!! Just kidding ^_^
TP: What would you say your greatest achievement in modeling has been so far? What would you like to have accomplished by this time next year?
EA: I would have to say my biggest achievement has been finding my way onto the covers of two well known car magazines within 6 months of modeling. I think that this is a pretty big achievement for myself. I am so thankful to have had the opportunities. By this time next year I would like to be working alongside my big sister Brooke Burke. Hahaha...just kidding! Maybe. ^_^ I'm not too sure really. I'm just taking things as they come along right now.
TP: We heard that your website is currently under construction. When can we expect it to be completed? What will your fans find on your website? Will there be a sexy members section?
EA: Yes, we are currently trying to get my site together. MissALVA.com is the OFFICIAL website of Elissa Alva. The rest are fake and I am totally not affiliated with any of them. Fans will be able to see pictures and videos that are not up on any other networking sites that I have. I will have posters and other merchandise available for the fans that are not able to make it to the events where they are usually sold. I'm excited! I'm hoping to get it up by the end of June for sure! A sexy members section? Haha we'll see ^_^
TP: Where can we expect to find you next? When will you be modeling with TunerPlayground this year?
EA: You'll be able to catch me in Reno with TunerPlayground at Extreme AutoFest at the end of June! Come and visit!!
TP: I think it's time that we wrap up. Any last words? Shout-outs? Feel free to plug yourself as much as possible. Ready? Go!
EA: I have lots!!!
TunerPlayground: Thanks so much to all of you guys for considering me as your feature model for June! I'm honored ^_^ Special thanks to Tom for always being great and easy to work with. I can't wait for our other projects this year!
Keith Selle: For any models contemplating whether or not they should pay for his services..DO IT! He is worth every penny..no lie! There is a reason why Keith shoots most of TunerPlayground's model features (including mine!). Keith has got to be one of the best photographers out there. You are so awesome, thanks for all your help and support!!
The CutieCourt team: Mark Kozen of Kozen Enterprises and the bay area favorite, Arturo Torres of ATorresPhoto.com, thanks so much for helping me along with modeling!
A special thank you to my friends and family, but especially Mom and Chama for supporting me 100 percent in modeling. Also A.J. and Jayce for believing in me!
Last but not least! Thank you to all my fans and supporters! You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the encouragement!! ^_^ You can find me at myspace.com/ElissaAlva and coming soon, MissAlva.com! Muah! Bye!
